What We Do

Throughout India, founder Sarah Mitts connected with passionate individuals who were leading amazing grassroots efforts to educate and empower India’s poor through education, small business development and environmental sustainability. However, in spite of their dedicated efforts, many of these social endeavours simply lacked the resources and organizational capacity to elevate their efforts and reach more people in need.

Early on we learned that to effectively help communities through Fair Trade we had to do more than simply sell their products. We had to strengthen them at their root by assisting these organizations in their development.

From the start, we have given our time and resources to our partner organizations to help them grow and build awareness about the Fair Trade movement within India.

Today, we continue to give back and support capacity development for our partners in India by giving our time and part of our proceeds to support:

Resource and Organizational Development: Website Development, Donor Communications, Grant-writing, Promotional     Materials Development.

Relationship Building and Educational Support: Fair Trade Education and Outreach, Fair Trade Membership and Application Support

Product Design and Development: Workshops and Trainings, Design Specifications and feedback, Market Trends and Reports, Costing, Pricing, Sales and Recording Keeping

Each of your purchases both stimulates the Fair Trade system AND provides additional financial support  to our partners so they can meet their needs and better serve their communities.
