Amazon Prime Day is July 15

Amazon PrimeStarting midnight July 15, Amazon will have something called an Amazon Prime Day. This will be the first Prime Day, and it will be interesting to see how consumers respond.

So what is Amazon Prime Day? Simply put, it’s a big sale, similar to Black Friday, with the only difference being that it occurs in July. Many news outlets are reporting on this event, and you can read such an article here.

There is one catch, however. In order to participate in Prime Day, you need to be a member of Amazon Prime. The cost to be a Prime member is $99 a year. But for this price, you get access to Amazon Instant Video, a streaming service that rivals Netflix. On top of that, you get free 2-day shipping on all products you buy from Amazon.

When you do the math, it actually works out to be a pretty good deal. The question you might be asking your self right now is “Should I join Amazon Prime so I can take advantage of Prime Day?”

In my opinion, the answer to this question is quite simple. Simply join Amazon Prime using the 1-month free trial, and this will allow you to reap the benefits of participating in Prime Day. At the end of the period, you can always cancel your account so you don’t incur any charges.

But who knows? It’s entirely possibly that after being a member for a month, you decide that the price is worth it to you. During the period, I encourage you not only to buy products so you get free shipping, but also check out the many streaming videos. If you’re already a member of Hulu or Netflix, you’ll be able to quickly judge if Amazon Instant Video gives you an equivalent level of service.

So mark your calendars, and join Amazon Prime for free so that you can take advantage of Amazon Prime Day, which is only a week away.
